Cows standing in barns using continuous flushing invariably get their hooves in the contaminated water.

Bad news.

They also get their tails – if they’re long enough – soaked.

Bad news.

Cows defecate. They also “pass gas.” Methane. Lots of it.

Eliminating the lagoon and flushing with decontaminated water will reduce or end hoof infections caused by contaminated water on the  floors.. It will also, since Ozonated water will still be active as it flushes the floor, reduce methane production.

Cows drinking water remediated with Ozone produce more milk. It has been reported that butterfat content will increase.

That we don’t guarantee. Butterfat increases. Could also have to do with diet.

Except that a different type of separator may be used, the processes are the same. Refer to FlowCharts elsewhere on the site.

Mammalian excrement, poop, crap, has common qualities. One is that it encapsulates nutrients and moisture and, when put on soil, releases them over a long period of time. A 65% dry separated solid isn’t that “dry” except to connesseurs of biosolids.

One of the effects of treating barn flushwater properly with Ozone is that you achieve flocculation and microflocculation. Smaller particles adhere to larger particles. Attraction. Perhaps a weird sort of magnetism. Don’t ask, don’t know. Not sure anyone knows and can’t/will explain it so we, the unlettered, can understand.

But it happens. This makes separation easier.

With hogs, we have found a specific vibratory screen separator extremely efficient. With cows, there are several choices. Not always a matter of cost, matter of effectiveness.

Barn Atmosphere Remediation not only completes the task of reducing/removing methane and other odor-causing elements but:

            Cows are more comfortable.

Viral, bacterial infections reduce or end.

An Ozonated atmosphere in the milking parlor (do they still call it that?) and milk handling areas will greatly decrease the possibilities of bacterial or viral contamination. Using Ozonated water to wash utensils with – even as a cool rinse water after steam cleaning them – will further reduce possibilities of bacterial or viral contamination.
